Optimum Home Entertainment are set to release Mathieu Kassovitz's La Haine (1995) in the United Kingdom on August 17th.

yes it does and it's an amazing movie. It's one of my top 5 movies of all time.

This is likely the only release that could be Region A/B, given that Studio Canal's French version is coded A/B (but not C).

Confirmation:

Unlike the French disc (Region A/B), this disc is Region-B "locked".

That sucks. I guess I'll hold onto the HD-DVD for now. Hopefully Criterion releases this eventually.

truely a awesome film i have a german release of it on hd dvd but will pick it up on blu ray for certain when my wallet allows.

Hey guys I never even heard about this movie and checked the trailer which got me. I ordered it. I want to know is it a good movie? It has great imdb rating but now I hardly trust imdb ratings. Those who own or have seen this movie please share your thoughts. I deeply love movies like Amores Perros, City of God,Gomorrah etc so will I like it? I absolutely love and appreciate good acting and I think Vincent Cassel must have did some great acting in this movie according to the trailer atleast!

The film is well worth purchasing, it looks great and has a strong impact.

I tell you something mate, you will never forget the ending.

Truly breathtaking.

kashif, its an excellent film but how much you like it will obviously depend on your taste. But given you like City of God, Amores Perros and Gomorrah, this should be right up your alley.

Great news but was hoping for a 4K LE box set only to realise now that SC no longer own the rights.

Very exciting. Such a great film and one I've been keen to revisit recently. There's a staggering pool of great extras to pull from between the previous Optimum releases (DVD especially) and the Criterion. Hopefully rights aren't too problematic and a good few can be ported over.
