I have the 4671, but it's virtually the exact same TV.

I just got it 5 days ago, so I haven't had adequate time to get all my devices perfect. I still have yet to find a great setting for Blu-Ray viewing, but here is what I came up with for my HD Set Top Box. To me, this is the best setting for SD and HD Digital Cable I have found after days of scouring. Also, I'd recommend going through your settings first and reset everything to default before putting in these.

Mode: Movie
Contrast: 93
Brightness: 36
Sharpness: 0
Color: 39
Tint: 50/50
Backlight: 3 (adjust to suit your personal taste)
Color Tone: Cool1 (also adjust to suit your personal taste)
Size: 16:9 or Just Scan
Digital NR: Off
Active Color: Off
DNIe: Off
Auto Motion 120Hz: Off (adjust to taste; I personally only use it for sports)

Detailed Settings
Black Adjust: Off
Dynamic Contrast: Off
Gamma: 0
Color Space: Auto
Edge Enhance: Off
xvYCC: Off

White Balance
ROffset: 14
GOffset: 12
BOffset: 10
RGain: 17
GGain: 21
BGain: 15

Color Control
Pink: 15
Green: 15
Blue: 15
White: 15

Those are just my preferences for SD and HD Digital Cable. I had to give it a few days but it's grown on me. Unfortunately, we have a while to wait to get a good Blu-Ray calibration disc. Hopefully that will help improve my PS3 and Blu-Ray settings.

Also, I don't know if you like AVS, but if you can stomach going over there they have a 15 page thread devoted entirely to Samsung 4661 and 4671 picture settings. Hope this helps. Good Luck!

I also have the 661F. I'm glad that someone here has that model too. Do those settings you just recomended look great with Blu ray, too? I'm pretty sure the 661F doesn't have a 120hz mode. I really wish it did!

I've noticed on this television that I get a lot of "judder." The image on BD's is not very smooth when the camera is panning. Do either of you guys experience this? You usually have to look at the bottom or top of the image to see the judder.

I been toying with buying the 4661F or 4671F for a while. How are these TVs? Good picture? Does the 61F support 1080p/24? I think only the 71 does.

Hey guys. There is a thread over at AVS specifically for the 61 calibration. I have the 71 but tried out these settings last night for Blu-Ray and they are the best I've tried yet. On my HDMI 1 input, I have the settings I posted earlier for my HD STB. On my HDMI 2 input, I have the settings posted here for my PS3/Blu-Ray:

http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showp...postcount=1499

After a week of tweaking, I am extremely satisfied with these settings. The blacks are black but with detail, the colors are vibrant, and the flesh tones are accurate. Just remember to put it on the source/input you are calibrating for and reset to factory defaults before you put in these settings.

^ Thank you for that link. I'm pretty ignorant about HDTV's. What does calibration mean? Is it just changing the settings of the image? I'll try those settings.

: )

Hi guys, first time posting. i just bought the T4661F last night and i would really like if someone can help me tune/calibrate this badboy! the colors look pale and dark. i have tried messing with the settings a bit and have a decent picture viewing but im sure i can get more out of this. i am not experienced with these kind of tvs as some of you pros =). I would like to have some settings for either a standard or a dynamic mode and some for the movie mode. i currently do not own a blue ray dvd player but if you guys could help me out, your help will be much appreciated =] TIA.

Right now most of these threads are guys that have used DVD calibration. I am still very satisfied with the link I posted above for my PS3 gaming and Blu-Ray watching, which I believe was a calibration from an Avia DVD. However, I will definitely be getting a Blu-Ray calibration disc when one is finally released this year.

If you have Ratatouille on BD, there is a comprehensive calibration that will walk you through the steps. It provides a good base line setting, but is nowhere near the quality you will get from an Avia calibration disc.

Sony also has a few calibration screens on all their BDs that can be accessed by pressing 7669 enter. Unfortunately, there are no instructions, thus pointless if you aren't a home theatre expert.

I'll post my 4671 settings once I get a full blown high quality Blu-Ray calibration disc in 1080p. Until then, stick with the AVS settings I posted above.
