Since I wasnt clear before..Im trying to become an advertiser in graphic design, I sent in the name telling them that I would have a design in a few weeks, of course Sony never responded BUT oh well. They'll probably steal the idea and say they came up on it on their own

I have a patent on a ketchup/mustard bottle. Kind of like how some toothpaste tubes have the two colors seperated from one another, but ketchup and mustard instead . It really is genius, and it saves me time on my hot dogs!

You serious? haha or you think im bullshitting? Cuz im not, I thought of the idea a few months back when i was contemplating getting a PS3, and I thought, well I dont wanna lugg my PS3 all around, and when I take long drives, I want to be able to watch my blu rays in other places than at home. And it was pretty easy to put 2 and 2 together for the name

It will come out sometime in the future but what's the point? At a portable sized screen, you won't be able to see the resolution feature of BD's. I guess it makes sense for those only buying BD's from now on.

See thats the whole money scam...Its not like these companies are against selling their DVDs too. Its not like Sony is saying, damn I wish that Open Season DVD stopped selling. If people want to travel and watch, they'll buy the DVDs along with the Blu Rays, and thats what i'll do, so I guess im a sucker

Why would ANYONE want something like this? No one could tell the difference between a standard DVD and a 1080p image on a small screen. It's difficult to even tell the difference between 720p and 1080p on anything smaller than a 42" screen. Much more of a problem telling the difference between 420p and 720p or 1080p on a 5" screen.

That is why Sony was showing technology at CES to port a Blu-ray into a PSP with PSP level resolution. THAT makes MUCH more sense.

For the 12 billionth time - its NOT ABOUT RESOLUTION - its about portability. So your telling me that you buy all these blu's and you are ALSO going to go out and buy all of them on another form of media just so you can watch them on the go??

I think not.

Portable blu-ray players are just that - PORTABLE - so people can watch their media on the go. Of course the resolution won't be the same. Come on, do you really have to spew that out every time a thread comes up asking about a portable BD player? No.

Again, it's about PORTABILITY OF YOUR EXISTING COLLECTION!

Blu Ray can't be appreciated on a 7" 320x240 screen. Stick with Portable DVD players for now.

Last time I checked, my portable DVD player didn't play Blu-rays. Hence the desire for a portable Blu-ray player.

Hey,

I have to say I don't believe the common notion that 1080p would be wasted on a small screen.

I'm typing on a mac book with a pretty small LCD screen and it's 1280x800 and looks nice. I'm sure that 1920x1080p would look great on a laptop computer sized screen and if you went just a little bigger that would be ok too.

Sure,.. a 7" screen like on a portable DVD player would be too small but a small 1080p of like 19" or so screen should look great and much better then a DVD on the same screen.
