And Then There Were None Blu-ray PRE-ORDER

VCI has set an August 27th street date for the Blu-Ray and restored standard DVD release of And Then There Were None (1945)

Ten people are invited for a weekend on an island by a Mr U. N. Own, but he isn't on the island. At dinner a record is played, by that all the people are accused of murder, suddenly the first of them is dead, then the next... It seems to be that one of them is the murderer Mr. U. N. Own, but the person in suspect is always the person who is murdered next. At last only two people seem to be left.

For some reason I thought this was at least ten years older.

It's not really a favorite but assuming a good transfer I won't be able to pass up an eventual sale price. I'm a complete sucker for noir but I also really like more classic almost gothic mystery stories.

There was another adaptation of the same Agatha Christie mystery 20 years later in 1965 called "Ten Little Indians". Maybe that's the one you're thinking of?

This is my favorite Agatha Christie novel, and I'd be interested to see this adaptation.

Fantastic News! I am trying to collect my top 100 movies of all time on blu ray. Most of them are already out or have been announced . . . and then there is a few that I thought would NEVER be released on blu ray (this is one of those!) Great movie, great cast and very entertaining (good score too!) Now maybe . . Them! (another one I don't have to much hope for)

One of the few noir films I don't know much about the cast, but it looks interesting enough to buy.

I wouldn't call And Then There Were none "noir" by any stretch, but it's a fun little Agatha Christie adaptation. BD arrives just in time for my birthday. If reviews are good, I'll pick it up to replace the DVD, which isn't particularly stunning.

Just never got around to picking it up on DVD myself. This is one of my favorites I first saw back in the 70's when I was a young whpper snapper. I do a pretty good Barry Fitzgerald impression as well, but when I do it now people just stare at me for some reason. Looking forward to this one and hopefully it get's the respect it deserves ....

This is my second favorite Agatha Christie film adaptation (my favorite being Witness for the Prosecution). Excellent film.

No, I'm definitely thinking of this one. I was just a little surprised to learn it was made in 1945. I would have placed it in the early/mid-30s.

Not that it matters, of course

Never heard of them...if they are a low rent company maybe we should wait on reviews..but according to this - they distribute a lot of sports and entertainment DVD's

This is a great little film though I'll be holding back until I know more about the quality. Tis a pity Criterion aren't doing this as it's the sort of whimsy that's right up their street.

Anyone but Gaiam! Have you seen what their crap John Wayne collection looked like last year? Their releases are all upconverts! I'm not sure what Vivendi will bring to this, but I'm not optimistic about it.

VCI's track record is a definitely better than Gaiam's, so good news there.
