Thumbs down Resident Evil: it is vaporware now...

I have no idea when the DLC is coming for RE8, but I think Capcom was really copying RE4 with that game, so much. But whatever, I suppose.

For some reason, I find RE4 and some other entries to be kind of overrated. And the remakes, while the second was well received, had a lot of missing content, unlike the first remake from 2002, which was faithful to the original. Leaving out Barry in RE3 was unacceptable.

In both games that are set in Europe, you go through a village, explore a castle, where a villain wears a hat, you meet a vendor, and go to a lake and a factory. But you never see the face of Ethan, which I don't like. Although otherwise, the game was very much the same. You even get attacked by many enemies early on, and they suddenly retreat like the villagers do in RE4.

I really find the plot in the games now is pretty absurd, to be honest. Sometimes, it feels like they just add in classic characters for the fan appeal. Chris being in RE7 felt forced in. Plus, his redesign was not great by any means.

They always talk about Umbrella being back. But they just cast it up. It begins to feel as if Capcom is stuck on ideas, so they do this to keep the old school fans invested. But even I can sort of tell they do it as a ploy to get fans to maintain interest.

Capcom has some annoying habit of going back to 1998, and setting the plot in Raccoon City repeatedly, despite blowing it up years ago. Or they copy other games, and make them less creepy. They even intend to release a Netflix series, with the antagonist Albert Wesker having a different race.

They copied Gears of War 3 for RE6 for some reason, as you will notice you have a platoon assisting you, and you can play on a slide in a park, which means they stole that idea basically. And with Revelations 2, it was a cut and paste job of The Last of Us.

I think I made a few fair points here. Capcom has just been following the trends, because RE8 was like being in that house in Silent Hill.

Oh dear. Copycats!

Anyway... do you agree, or do you like the games regardless?
