Also just noticed HMV has a load of Collector's Steelbooks for Batman 89, Returns and the Dark Knight trilogy up for pre-order too. Seems the same kind of package - Steelbook, some tat, and a rigid slipbox.

Why is it so hard to just make a gloss black steelbook with the Batman symbol representing each film. Maybe with the title embossed? They keep doing all this weird shit, but less is more.

Like would it kill Warner to use the theatrical art for the Batman films??? I just don't understand.

Imagine Returns with the icy Bat-symbol teaser poster on the slipbox, and the theatrical one-sheet on the steelbook. Would be a thing of beauty. Is it too much to ask?

Warners is probably keeping that iconic look for themselves.

When the art cards should be the cover art...

Does anyone know if these collectors editions are exclusive to the UK only or will they be available here in the US?

Eh. Even if the packaging was literal perfection these discs would still have remixed audio only. Doesn't bother me as much as it does some folks but even so, Warners made a boo-boo and I don't care how fancy the fookin packaging is.

If they were however to pull a Sony and reissue these with Dobly Vision and OG audio in lossless then just try and stop me from buying them

Everything is great about those except the actual steelbooks themselves. Go figure.

Are we sure those collector's editions are steelbooks from zavvi? I don't see any language on the site indicating they are steelbooks...

this movie seems to be getting some amazing reviews, im going to watch it tonight, havent seen a single trailer and the cover arts of these steelbooks look really good, i think it'll be a day one purchase for me too

Edit - Movie was a let down, probably wouldn't sit through it again tbh...still, can't deny that cover art looks really good
