PS3 commercials

I've been seeing A LOT of PS3 commercials today, and the funny thing is a couple days ago I was thinking about why I haven't seen ANY commercials for the PS3 on tv EVER (except for on the internet). I've even seen PS3 commercials play twice in a row now. I've mostly been seeing promotions for MGS4, but I haven't seen any that emphasize Blu-ray? I don't know. I remember around the Xbox and PS2 days I used to see ad commercials left and right, and now I don't see any for either the PS3 or the 3timesfixme (I see a lot for the Wii though). What's up with the advertising tactics nowadays? Kind of off topic, but it's not only advertising, MTV doesn't play music videos anymore and the music industry is going down like the WTC. Do you think since they don't advertise much, it's hurting the sales of the PS3? Plus I've heard they're not doing a spot for the Superbowl. I know we don't need to keep competing strongly against HD DUD now, but you still need to get the word out right?

Do you watch TV? I see PS3 commercials all the time, for months now. And lately all the one's I've been seeing have been strictly about Blu-ray. There is always one that they do where it always ends with RE: Extinction and then they show the PS3 putting a blu-ray disc into itself I actually just saw one about a half an hour ago.

They also have ones where they do games (Burnout, MGS, UT3, Uncharted)

I see them constantly on ESPN and Comedy Central. But these are really the only two channels my TV is really on. If you watch other channels constantly you might not see them.

I used to watch TV 24/7 and now I only watch mainly for the news. I do see a lot of commercials for movies coming out, and at the end the guy says: "Coming to DVD and Blu-ray Hi-Def." It reminds me of the commercials where the guy said: "Coming to video and DVD." lol. But when I just saw those commercials I was watching wrestling, so maybe it was because of the demographic I was watching? lol

I see about 75 percent of PS3 commercials on ESPN. Not a bad demographic to go after. I don't see many Xbox 360 commercials anymore. After the initial wave of Gears, Bioshock, and Halo passed I haven't seen much of in the way of their advertising.

I guarantee if you sit down and watch ESPN for an hour, you'll catch one.
