PS3 Connection Issue - Blu-ray Forum

I was watching David Gilmour and then Tony Bennett yesterday afternoon and everything was fine. A few hours later I went back as I wanted to watch a movie and tada....NO IMAGE! I tried different movies and a few games, but nothing. I rdisconnected and reconnected every thing to no avail.

I then called Sony and they told me to connect my PS3 with their supplied A/V cable (I use HDMI from PS3 to Yamaha HTR-6190 A/V Receiver). I get a picture for sure, which is great! When I try to go back to HDMI .....NOTHING!

Does this mean my HDMI cable is defective? Or heaven forbid, could it be my receiver?

Any input you could give would be greatly appreciated!

every once and a while, i'd turn on my ps3 and would not get a picture, if i turned it off, and back on, it would say "found a hdmi connection" or something like that, like it did opon first set up. I have since replaced the sony hdmi cable with a monoprice cable, and have yet to have any more problems. hope this helps

Like the other post says, I'd try a different cable if possible.

Also, when you try HDMI and don't get a picture, did you try resetting the PS3 by holding down the PS3 power button for around 5 seconds or so until it turns off (I think it'll beep a few times to let you know it has been reset). Then try turning it back on to see if you get anything?
