I remember seeing this game and had it loosely on my radar to check out but had loads of other stuff going on so didn’t keep tabs but it appears this has recently launched on PS5 since October 2024.
I am usually sucked in by RPGs but my usual experience of Free to Play hasn't always met the visual expectations. This visually has a pretty robust looking character customisation but it does have some performance foibles even playing on a PS5. I don't know how much of that might be down to poor optimisation or some of it being server side. However i found the way the story unfolds to you whilst you play as quite engaging. My only slight issue right now is that there's a LOT of stuff on screen and to keep track of as is typical fare for an MMO however you still can get to grips with things. Right now, servers are mixed with PC, Xbox etc. and different regions have a mix and standing on some servers that's more prominent so it would have been helpful if they labelled which servers are more used by specific countries imo as i had to go Google and chose based on what Reddit threw up. There's also no free server hopping so i think you'd have to delete whatever you got done and restart. Knowing the game and loops to run, you will probably be quicker with things. I am still holding off assigning all my skill points because i want to learn a bit more about builds for classes before i commit but the great thing is that the game doesn't hold me back from content. The enemies are quite manageable and i even ran through areas with level 50 enemies as like a level 30 or sometimes a bit under without getting one shot. I did this because i wanted to take advantage of the free travel the game gives you until you get past level 30 with free travel between those waypoints you unlocked. This games very weird in the sense that gear doesn't work like other games. A piece of gear can be levelled up using in game resources and then infused for free into higher rarity gear and there's a way to try maximise how much you can level up gear but you can only do that once so you have to be smart. So far it's fun but there's definitely a bit of self research required like most MMO types. |
