It's rather odd that the superior format doesn't come with the more advanced mixes, as I have the German blu edition, which sports a really active 7.1 soundtrack in two different languages.

Here in Italy also the old Bluray from Sony was in 5.1

Yeah, I know - which is even more of a puzzler. Come to think of it, Germany might be the only release with the 7.1 tracks.

Here in the UK, they didn't even bother releasing it on Blu, and Occhiali Neri hasn't come out here at all!!

Thank gawd for the Italian edition!

There were French subtitles on first bluray edition, I hope on 4K too.

Haha, indeed. It's so embarrassing, it makes you wonder if Argento ever had any talents. Obviously he did (Deep red is a masterpiece, imo) but for a second there after watching Dracula it made me questioned everything about Argento. Has there ever been such a drop in quality as big as Argento has had by any other talented directors? Dracula 3D is like watching a high school movie with a few professional actors.

I can't even imagine how great a Dracula from Argento in the late 70's or early 80's would have been.

Dracula 3D is nowhere close to his early works for sure, and it's a major dropoff from his best films of the 70's, but still, Dracula 3D is not all bad. There's some CGI that should have been finished, but there's still some style in this. The story is all over the place though. Still worth a watch. I put it off for years after hearing how bad it was, and I ended up having fun with it. And the 3D was quite good. But yeah, certainly not classic Argento. He did suffer quite the drop in his later films.

I'm torn whether to order this. I have 2 bds already and I'm not a massive fan. Would probably be an easier decision if it had HDR.

Edit: Ordered it, I cancelled my Italian Amazon The Abyss order and re-ordered that with Dracula so at least I'm only paying one shipping rate. Can't really complain about acquiring an overseas Dario Argento 4K UHD for less than 20 pounds.

Quote from thedigitalbits: “ Cinematographer Luciano Tovoli captured Dracula 3D digitally using twin ARRI Alexa cameras, with everything finished as a 2K Digital Intermediate, and framed at 2.35:1 for its theatrical release.”

I must say that I would be more excited if it was a 4K of the other period piece, Phantom of the Opera.

Phantom has grown on me over the years, never got the hate. I'd even get Mother of Tears

It's weird that the back cover states that the 3D version on the included blu-ray will be 1:78.1. I once watched my Italian 2D/3D bd on a PlayStation VR headset and I'm sure that disc's 3D version was in full widescreen.

Boy am I glad that I pre-ordered this for 16 euros. I see that the Amazon price is now 30 euros. Hopefully Italian Amazon honour that earlier price and ship it fairly soon. Did anyone else here order a copy? I'd be curious to read any verdicts on it.

Mine shipped earlier, it's great that Italian Amazon are honouring what must have surely been a misprice.
