Default Lord of Illusions from Scream Factory

...as leaked by Clive Barker.

The other movie of mine that Shout is preparing a definitive new edition of (I've just seen the art-work for theDVD.It's superb ) is indeed LORD OF ILLUSIONS,as many of you have already guessed. The edition will have both cuts of the film, interviews, analysis,a profile of D'Amour traced through all his literary and cinematic journeys and Nix knows what else...It's going to be a whole new vision of D'Amour's world, all the way up to,and including ,THE SCARLET GOSPELS.My love to you all, Clive Barker

Good News.... But it crushed by hopes that the Barker title was Rawhead Rex.

Sweetness, love this flick and might even check out the theater cut as I don't think I ever saw that.

Great news, I was very disappointed that the UK release was only of the theatrical cut. Underrated film too, an interesting blend of supernatural horror and film noir.

Maybe they will do all his films. I'm up for them.

Very creepy film. I saw this one in the theatre when it was first released. Glad to hear the unrated version will be included.

Wait...didn't Scream just say last week that they didn't have any Barker titles at this time?

Scream just announced it on facebook...

Quote:
**SURPRISE TITLE ANNOUNCEMENT!**

1995's LORD OF ILLUSIONS will be coming to Blu-ray for the first time later this Fall as a Collector's Edition. The cat was let out of the bag from it's Director himself -- the legendary Clive Barker - today on his Facebook page.

We have no other details to report ay this time but we know a lot of you are excited about the news. More info will become more clearer in the Summer when we begin to work on the title.

If they decide to include both cuts, let's hope it turns out better than Lifeforce.

Sadly Barker hates the film. But I would love it as well. One of my favorites.

That was my thought as well. As I posted in the Scream thread, why even bother with the significantly inferior theatrical cut, as including it would only increase the probability of compression issues? The version broadcast on MGMHD was the theatrical, which wouldn't bode well for the BD (and the recently-released UK disc is just the censored cut, with 101 Films noting 'MGM only had the original master for the DC'), but Barker has stated that both versions will be included, so I guess we'll just have to wait and see. The theatrical cut is significantly shorter and inferior, so I won't even bother if the director's cut isn't included.

PS - Regarding Lifeforce, the Arrow release has zero compression problems, the theatrical cut is progressive, and the audio issues with Scream's theatrical cut aren't present. So if you're region-free (or have a Panasonic or Pioneer player), it's time to ditch the Scream disc.

After looking it up on movie-censorship, I don't really care if the theater cut is included. I'd just notice missing scenes by now and it doesn't look to offer much but a couple seconds of alternate footage, so why bother?

I still crack up thinking of the first time I saw Rawhead Rex on dvd, thinking how funny it was that film even got a dvd release. Of course I was laughing while buying it, and would gladly chuckle again for a BD!
