Default Possession 1981

Forgive me if there is another thread about this movie. I searched but didn't find anything. Today, I watched it for the first time. I really enjoyed it. Great performances, but I felt like the pacing was greatly off. It was a movie full of amazing scenes and then others that I didn't think fit at all, which dragged down the momentum. With some trims I would have put it on my top 50 list... I've read online that the USA version was cut and shortened. Has anyone ever seen other versions? How does it differ to the full cut? Does it flow better? The uncut version IMO feels like there are three different story lines. Like too much is crammed in, which really kills the flow. A movie like this needs momentum, and these scenes IMO killed it. It also feels like the cinematography is different in some scenes. Like some are truly unique while others feel very plain jane. Were there reshoots at some point to try and put the story together? It's like the editor was clueless on what to take out. If you've seen the film, what's your thoughts?
