Here's what will hopefully be the first in a series of polls honoring the rich history of World Cinema, and finding the forum's favorite non-English language films of all-time.
The endeavor here is to choose films with absolutely none, or a very bare minimum, of English being spoken. That means not including most British, Australian, English Canadian or New Zealand films, unfortunately. Would be willing and open to include films with special circumstances, but I'm hoping we won't have to nitpick or quibble about qualifications. Any feedback or discussion about these World Cinema titles would be greatly appreciated. As far as 1989 goes, the Academy voted Cinema Paradiso the Best Foreign Film of the year. What do you say? Cheers, and thanks for participating! |
