Already the 4th in a series of random-year polls honoring the rich history of World Cinema, and finding the forum's favorite non-English language films of all-time.
The endeavor here is to choose films with absolutely none, or a very bare minimum, of English being spoken. That means not including most British, Australian, English Canadian or New Zealand films, unfortunately. Would be willing and open to include films with special circumstances, but I'm hoping we won't have to nitpick or quibble about qualifications. In any case, any feedback or discussion about these World Cinema titles would still be greatly appreciated. The Academy hadn't recognized Foreign Films yet, and even Cannes wasn't a thing yet. So it's up to this noble forum to set history straight. Cheers, and thanks for participating! |
