Blind buy despite hearing that it's not Martino's best. But I couldn't pass up the opportunity to be one of the 1,000 owners of this first-time release by a "new" horror boutique(?). Interested to see how their restoration looks with all of their exclusive extras.

Hopefully Cauldron ends up being good in their blu-ray releases. Don't want another Blue Underground -- limited releases that are getting better re-distributions (i.e. Deep Red by Arrow, Gates of Hell by Scorpion Releasing, etc.) or just upgrading the format on the same 5-6 movies or so.

Right. Given the caps, the new Cauldron is incomparably better than the German release which is a wax museum. Gotta love this newbie label

If not yet, I sincerely hope they will be able to release Deodato's Body Count along with some gialli like The Case of the Bloody Iris, Black Belly of the Tarantula.

Ricksaw and Abrakadabra are two excellent releases - but I had a feeling they would be since Jesse Nelson from Diabolik also runs (owns?) Cauldron.

Being a film aficionado himself and knowing what the fans like, I wasn't surprised how great these turned out.

Looking forward to the next announcements - I agree with leoganzi, would love to see The Case of the Bloody Iris, Black Belly of the Tarantula if at all possible.

Never heard of the film before now, but if it's directed by Sergio Martino, then it's probably amazing.

I'm a huge Martino fan, but for Rickshaw you need to temper your expectations - this is definitely NOT Mrs Wardh, All the Colors, Your Vice or Torso.

Of all the Martino films I've seen, it's certainly the kookiest, and for me hits all the right notes for a late 80's campy horror/action film.

If you go in knowing it's just a fun offbeat little film, I think you'll enjoy it.

Plus as a bonus, gorgeous packaging, nice booklet, and great extras - including an excellent commentary by Kat Ellinger and Sam Deighan.

For 80s campiness, I'll stick with 2019: After the Fall of New York

It's funny because I just double-checked Martino's filmography, and I realised that the main reason I associate his name with feelings of bliss and joy is because he directed the amazing Hands of Steel, LMAO. I also quite like 2019 (at least once Big George enters the picture) and Slave of the Cannibal God.

Strangely I've yet to watch any of Martino's gialli. I think because they've had such poor treatment on BD here in the UK, I've held off buying them.

For UK discs I recommend "Your Vice Is a Locked Room and Only I Have the Key" and "The Case of the Scorpion's Tail" both from ARROW.

I agree with you, it's sad that "Torso" and "All the Colors of the Dark" are relegated to the aptly named SHAMELESS video....

I completely forgot Arrow released the first two! For some reason I just assumed Shameless did the lot of them.

Just took a spin through your collection dallywhitty, very impressive!
Based on that, you should definitely pick up those two at some point.

You'll love "Your Vice.." as it's kind of batshit crazy, and has the lovely Edwige Fenech and Anita Strindberg.

"Scorpion's Tale" is more straightforward (more of a mystery giallo if that makes sense) but still really entertaining, and also features Anita Strindberg.

Thank you! I just browsed through your own collection and it appears that we have fairly similar tastes.

I'll definitely have to give them a watch at some point, especially Your Vice as I appreciate Italian cinema most when it's batshit crazy.
