Sony Pictures Spider-Man Cinematic Universe

This is the master thread for all the Spider-Man-related movies that have either been released, are upcoming, in development, or rumored. I figured there are enough of these currently being worked on that it makes sense to have a thread dedicated to this universe, like the MCU or DC Universe.

(This will be for the current continuity between the MCU and Sony's own live-action Spider-Man universe, so this will not be for the Raimi/Maguire trilogy, the Webb/Garfield duo, or the animated films such as Into the Spider-Verse.)

Released:
  • Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)
  • Venom (2018)
  • Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019)

Upcoming:
In Development:
Rumored:
(NOTE: I could not find an existing thread for this already, but if it already exists, then Mods please merge or delete.)

This universe is stupid. It just consistently of Spidey supporting characters that mostly never carried their own comic book titles.

How dare Venom get a movie when he has only ever been a lead in comic miniseries!

Morbius is getting his own comics:

Black Cat has her comics:

Just a few examples.

•Venom (2018)
It doesn't belong to the Spider-Man Movie Franchise.

1- Venom is a standalone superhero, not Spider-Man's supervillain (anymore).

2- Cinematic Venom has NO relationship with Spider-Man.

3- Cinematic Venom has no spider-powers.

4- Cinematic Venom has no spider-logo on the chest.

See how one word can change things?

This could change with Morbius or even Venom 2 depending what is shown. It was confirmed by the director of Venom that the plan all along was for Venom to eventually crossover with Tom Holland's Spider-Man.

Don't rule anything out. (yet)

I said mostly. Something like Madam Web and Sinister Six never had their own comics.

Isn't Spider-Man: Far From Home supposed to be on that list? After all, they can't have Sinister Six without Mysterio.

I won't be surprised if Venom 2 has post credit scenes with Tom Holland's Spidey lol.

I didn't care for it either. The trailers for it really did nothing for me. I was just "meh" about it.

I gave it a shot in the cinema and it blew me away. Absolutely fantastic film and a pioneer in animation & design IMO. I was never so happy to be so wrong about a movie.

It was an okay movie but overall I felt the same, didn't do anything for me. I prefer live action superhero movies after all these years. Animated superhero shows were cool in the 90s and early 2000s but I'm kind of good with them now, outside of a sixth Teen Titans season, that is.

Edit: whoops you were referring to trailers in the first line, missed that part
