Default Best WWII movies on Blu-ray?

Title says it all really - I'm thinking of stunning transfers of great films.

Patton should be a contender, but from the reviews the transfer lets it down.

Yeah, why not.

I was thinking of older movies, but not really worried as long as they are damn good (in terms of movie quality and transfer).

Some good choices there, but do they all have great Blu-ray transfers?

Nice, I really want a U.S. release I don't really like the Hong Kong release. It just seems really sketchy to me, the Blu-Ray box is actually black, the back cover seems to be poorly constructed, and it just seems sketchy to me, can't really explain it.! ahah Probably just me being weird, but whatever. Can't wait for a U.S. release! (Hope it gets either the french or Canadian cover)

The Pacific and Band of Brothers look great. I thought the "The Bridge on the River Kwai" had a good transfer. Can't give an opinion on Pearl Harbor though, but the reviewer gave it a 5.0, but the audio got a lower score. IIRC

Saints and Soldiers is an amazing film! Highly recommend it. It is only available in the UK and Germany. The UK version is Region Free and Germany's version is Region B.

Those are good movies. Glad to know someone besides me owns Katyn. If you want one that takes place a little bit earlier, but leads into WWII, try "City of War-The Story of John Rabe." He was lesser known that Oskar Schindler, but was German and saved a lot of Chinese people from the Japanese invaders in Nanking. I guess we all know what happened there.
