Looking for epic westerns recommendations

People's definition of what is an epic western may differ. To me stuff like How The West Was Won, The Good The Bad And The Ugly, and Lonesome Dove fit under that category. Could you recommend more?

John Wayne's Red River and The Searchers.

Also worthy of mention - She Wore a Yellow Ribbon and The Man who Shot Liberty Valance.

Clint Eastwood - TGTBATU and The Outlaw Josey Wales.

I suggest also anything of the genre with Kevin Costner in it.
Some films are not masterpieces, but the guy has a genuine passion and love for the time and the genre, and it shows on every frame.

All of those above are great suggestions. I would say if you want a great western one of the best was Lonesome Dove the Mini Series!

The Big Country is one of the great epic Westerns.

Man, I would love nothing more than to see an epic adaptation of Cormac McCarthy's Blood Meridian.

I have a soft spot for Mackenna's Gold. I just wish they could re-do the large reptile parts with CGI.
