PS3 Fanboy hands-on: MLB 08 The Show

I'm no fan of baseball but I've been hearing nothing but HUGE praise for this game.

This looks awesome, has anyone heard anything on MLB2K8 ? Is this supposed to blow that away ?

I've bought the last two seasons of MLB on my PSP and I just love it. I really wanted to get The Show last year but it came out so late that I picked up MLB 2k7 for the 360. I loved 2k7 pitching but I hated the batting (classic and stick swing). I'm really excited for PS3 baseball this year though.

I can't wait for the new Road to the Show mode. You can actually play the postition you put yourself on. If you're a 2nd baseman, you're a second baseman. You play the position and nothing else. If the player bunts down the first base line you got to cover first base. A runner on first tries to steal second, you have to back up the shortstop. The camera is all on you if I'm reading and watching the videos right. Long story short. I'm going to feel like I'm actually playing on a real team. Do things to help out my team to win. From batting, to running, to fielding. I can't wait. I've been waiting for something like this for years and now it's here. It's going to destroy 2k8
