Get a can of Air Spray Duster, and spray inside and around your inputs. If that doesn't work, then you may have a shortage in the circuitry of the unit. It's not only available at Home Depot, you can buy it any department store.

The contacts tend to get oxidation over time unless they are gold plated. The easiest solution is with the equipment turned off rotate the knob all the way in each direction several times. The idea is the contacts rubbing against each other will clean them. I have to do this with my receiver since some controls such as balance are never moved. You can also Google 'contact cleaners' . I have used these before but for them to work well they need to be sprayed on the contacts which may mean removing the cover from the equipment.

https://www.amazon.com/DeoxITLiquid-...4&sr=8-11&th=1 Deoxit also have a "contact enhancer" for post cleaning. It cleared up the problem I was having with static/crackling noise. The spray cans are a better value, but if you want to save a few bucks, the amount in the small tube should be enough to clean all your connections now, and they should be good for many years after. |
