Paramount will be releasing Beautician and the Beast (1997) on April 26th. More details to come.

I saw this years ago, but don't remember much of it. I think I first saw it on VHS, because I don't recall seeing it in a theater.

Yes!!!! While it's a bit derivative and predictable, it's a sweet, cute and charming movie. Timothy Dalton is especially good and while it wasn't much of stretch from what she was doing at the time, Fran Drescher gives it her all and is lovely as always. I also think the whole things works because both of them have such great chemistry. Anyway, I'm glad this is finally at long last coming out.

Day 1 purchase, I love this movie it's so much fun and charming. Glad it's finally getting a Blu-ray release.

Basically, it's The Nanny on the big screen. Still, I love it and I'm in. Time to get rid of the DVD.

I was JUST thinking about this minutes ago!!

Re-watching The Nanny on the MAX (started Season 5). Probably will just have the HD transfer from Vudu and the like, but I hope they at least include the Drescher commentary (a surprising choice for a film like this) and the trailer, which has never been included on any release of the movie.

Woo! One of my favorite romantic comedies, though Drescher is high on my list of favorite comediennes so I'm incredibly biased.

An absolutely lovely ending too, as well as a gorgeous score.

Not really a Fran Drescher fan, but I remember this one being enjoyable enough. Kind of sad they don't make movies like this anymore. I'll probably pick it up.

Well I'd rather watch this than that damn Michael McDonald DVD anymore. Nothing against him, but if I hear "Yah Mo B There" one more time, I'm going to "Yah Mo" burn this place to the ground.

Hahahahaha I actually don't remember this, I watched it only twice on VHS. I might have the DVD but I am certainly pre-ordering this one.

Not preordering this from Amazon they usually never get it to me by release date. I'll probably go with Best Buy. I like that artwork.

Hopefully Paramount carries over Fran's commentary from the DVD. I'm glad we're getting so many of their catalog titles, but they could at least give us one or two special features.

Made it!

Paramount did port over the commentary.

Going through it now. The main menu is static with play movie, commentary, and (English only) subtitle options. There is no scene selection menu, though there are 34 chapter stops.

The disc isn't region locked. The HD master is alright, but looks pretty dated. There's grain, but there's quite a bit of edge enhancement going on. The sound is DTS Master, which is odd seeing that Paramount has been including TrueHD over DTS on these catalog releases. Not that it matters, but just something I've noticed lately.

Sigh, sounds like the same master that's available digitally, and I'm fine (no pun intended) keeping it and passing on this.

Nice that the commentary was ported, though. It's one of the more interesting Paramount decisions concerning bonus features, lol.

What I love about this site, there are other people out there who love silly movies like this! I have so many movies where others look at me like I'm insane and have no clue what I'm talking about, here, there is only a couple in my collection where only 1-5 people here have it, most everything else lots of people know about!

Needless to say, this is now in my cart waiting for my next purchase!!
