Ne Zha 4K UHD (2019)

So this is their second UHD?
I really liked the first, Shadow, a beautiful and emotional movie. It wasn't that shiny like some people like their 4K PQ, but boy, I loved it.

I don't know if this movie really does it for me though.

An animated Chinese movie on 4K Blu-ray?
Hmmm, interesting. But since Well Go USA did a fantastic job with their first 4K Blu-ray release (Shadow), I'd be looking forward to this release to see how it is. Hopefully it'll feature a Dolby Atmos or a DTS:X track on it too.

It looks interesting and the visuals in the trailer seem eager to be an HDR showcase. After their Shadow UHD turned into a lovely surprise of a blind buy for me, I’ll give this one a go as well.

I'm really digging the look of the animation. It's got that What if Laika did Dragonball Z vibe.

I wouldn’t expect something as impressive as Shadow, that film had a director who of course is famous for his film’s visuals and was rightly highly acclaimed for them. This has a kinda cheap look to it compared to the gorgeous stuff Pixar puts out (not surprsing as I’m sure the budget was much lower), plus I thought the film itself was very forgettable.

Very happy to see Well Go continuing with 4k releases. I hope they'll in time dip into catalog releases too, I imagine the Ip Man trilogy & Train to Busan are likely candidates if they do.

Got to see this in London

Had no idea what to expect but despite the dark stuff it was hilarious. Fart jokes, a flying pig and a great Terminator musical gag.

Worth checking out when it gets released.

Had a good chat with others in the cinema as I was the only non-Asian there

Absolutely thrilled that Well Go USA is adding to their 4K library. Movies like Shadow and Ne Zha should have 4K as much as any Hollywood movie in my opinion. Hopefully this means that Shadow's initial 4K sales were good (enough). They have plenty of movies in their catalog that I would love to upgrade to 4K but we probably won't get that. May not even have a master for those at this point. Maybe for Along with the Gods though?

the trailer looks really good for this animated feature the colors look really good so, I can only imagine how good it will be in 4K/HDR. based on what I saw, I really hope,

that it takes full, over the top advantage of the ATMOS audio system because if it does, it will be f'ing amazing!

This seems to be sold out on release day. I put in for in store pickup at Best buy last week. Hopefully it doesn't get cancelled.

My Amazon pre-order is in limbo; the product page simply says "Currently unavailable." I will wait for awhile and see what happens. It is slightly annoying as I was looking forward to getting this one today.

At this point I don't trust Amazon for ****.

They screwed up way too many orders of mine. Now it's Best Buy and eBay all the way.
