Shout! Factory have a new store exclusive, Meatcleaver Massacre (1977), which stars Christopher Lee. The release is limited to 1,500 copies.

Horror legend Christopher Lee (The Wicker Man, the Lord Of The Rings trilogy) stars in this pulse-pounding film where revenge is best served in cold blood. Yup. Everybody has sales around the same time lol. Kino, Shout (exclusive), Mondo Macabro and Vinegar Syndrome. Arrow's next set of Preorders begin tomorrow - all that's missing is Severin.

Most misleading title ever. Odd this is coming from Shout! This one is much more fitting of Vinegar Syndrome.

I had to order this one! It feels, looks and should have been a bottom shelf dust collector in every sizable mom & pop video store in the US. But it wasn't hardly at any of them! A title more read about than seen in the wild. In 95, I saw a video tape ad in the back pages of Darkside magazine that had Meatcleaver Massacre on tape available to order. Then I realized it was a UK magazine. Now that I think of it, they had piles of titles on tape that were no longer available in the USA at that time ("on moratorium" was the term back then) I just couldn't take the financial plunge for a NTSC/PAL vhs player or tv. Those were laserdisc funds! I finally got to see Meatcleaver Massacre sometime around 1999. I'm very happy this movie get's it's high definition debut right here in America! The entire experience, including the Christopher Lee tacked on footage for the theatrical cut (thanks James Bryan) looks incredible! It blows away anything anyone's ever seen. A strong transfer. This doesn't make the movie better (or maybe it does?), but it surely raises the curio factor several bars!

This cover art is crazy! Makes me wonder what took Wes Craven so long in coming up with Freddy Kruger and his razor sharp gloved fingers! I'm checking this one out down the road!
