I concur. I can't say it's up there with THE BLOB (1988) or some others, but for what it is it's a good little time waster (the childhood memories don't hurt, either). I'd say it's on the same level as WAVELENGTH (1983), which came out about the same time:

Well, looks like both Best-buy and Walmart are no-go's, so I decided to place an order on Amazon for $14.99 with free 2 - Day shipping.
For anyone interested, here's the site's review on the Timerider BD: https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Timer.../61582/#Review UPDATE: Received my copy in the mail earlier today, will post a mini review hopefully before tomorrow's end ![]() Last edited by MechaFresh82; 03-20-2013 at 07:54 PM. |

Well, I'm glad to say that I'm happy with the blu-ray release of this film, so many fond memories, never thought I'd see the film in such glorious HD. The soundtrack is great too.
The film appears clean with little to no scratches, there appears to be some DNR on some scenes but not too much (noticeable in the day-time scenes), their is also lots of grain, naturally for a film of this nature. The overall sharpen effect for this this blu-ray disc, gives the film that modern feel. The film looks really good for 1982, hands down. The night scenes look really good, you can actually make out some of the trees in the background, the daytime scenes appear very natural-like thanks to its lighting and DP, (no thanks to my washed-out VHS ![]() I was surprised to see there was a making-of and an audio commentary (both features weren't listed previously in the press release) - as for the commentary, it's very informative thanks to the director, he comes off as very energetic as if he drank an energy drink before recording this commentary, lol. I agree with his opinion on wishing he had done the "Time-travel" bit differently and more effective. It's an interesting topic because the director mentioned there were various test shots for the "Time-travel" scene but somehow they didn't make it on to the blu-ray There's also a bunch of TV spots with the trailer, the main menu looks pretty far-out, as well. All in all, for $14.99, this gem is worth it. Overall, I give this blu-ray a solid "10" Last edited by MechaFresh82; 03-21-2013 at 05:39 AM. |

Stop, man, stop. I'm salivating now. This movie predates BTTF and truly introduced a new and fresh way to make a time travel movie. It was the proto-modern time travel movie in my book. It is a huge classic of my childhood, when Fred Ward was "da man" because he was Remo Williams (the movie was very successful here in Italy). I'm glad justice is done through this great blu-ray release. I love SHOUT! ![]() |

Got my disc in the mail and just had a quick look. The bloody stumps are there. The blu-ray is UNCUT!
Picture quality seems pretty fantastic too. Nothing demo worthy, but it appears pretty much untouched. The little I flipped through showed some nice fine detail. Nothing digital looking about the image at all. Great release. Last edited by Inspector Toschi; 03-22-2013 at 07:20 PM. |

Ive imported this as it looks like a cheesy 80s movie and Mike Nesmith wrote the script.
I remember seeing the vhs cover for this but it was never shown on tv over here so im hoping this is ok. Just hope they release Remo and Jake Speed soon |
