I was really hoping this would include a copy of the soundtrack as it's gotten hard to find and very expensive when you do. Absolutely ordered regardless. Can't wait to check out the new special features!

Does anyone know if this limited edition contains a new scan of the film or is it the same scan from the previous US release?

It's explained in the Video section in the review above:

"Second Sight's 1080p24 MPEG-4 AVC 2.35:1 widescreen Blu-ray uses the same master as the earlier DVD and Blu-ray editions."

Ive watched thousands of horror movies in my life, because of that experience, not because Im super tough, they rarely scare me, but session 9 did the trick. I'll definitely be buying this.

There's no scan for this film in the traditional sense. It was shot on digital HD video and one assumes the original digital files were used to make the master for the home video releases.

Looks great but basically the SCREAM release with no new scan or audio upgrade so may pass sadly... Whats interesting is this new SPANISH release, possibly 4K with 5.1 audio?!

Your typical Resen Bootleg. Back cover is riddled with typos (Brendan Sextom, Peter Mullar), no licensing or copyright info... Not new either, has been out since 08/20. And those extras have been on the Spanish SD DVD before. Also, it is identified as a French release on amazon.com

Here's the link to amazon.es:https://www.amazon.es/Session-BLU-RA...0614637&sr=8-1

Mine arrived today from Orbit. Nice package... I don't really see any reason to hang onto the old Shout release now.

It was one of the first films that was entirely shot on early 24p HD digital video, so it probably looks about as good as it's going to. The motion anomalies are due to the 40fps shutter speed the DOP used. It is just never going to look as good as later films shot with ever evolving digital HD cameras/technology.

If there ever is a 4K release, it's going to be an upscale...and probably introduce more digital artifacting than the film's lower native resolution would on Blu-ray.

Hi JMEANS, the back cover is incorrect, as the Second Sight release has DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1.

That's a good enough recommendation for me. Had wanted to see some comments on here about Second Sight's release before deciding whether to get it.

Have you got Second Sight's release of Swallow?

No, sorry. I have quite a few of their other releases though, and they always seem to do a great job with them.

Indeed, it definitely has a 24-bit lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track on this new Second Sight release.

It should also be noted that not "all" of the bonus features are listed on the back cover or the announced bonus features. The old Trailer for the film is included for instance. I don't see anything left off that was included on the old Shout! Factory release.
