I recently got the 1080p BD of Everything Everywhere All at Once from Netflix. This presentation is advertised as being in Dolby Atmos. I even went to the audio setup screen and checked that the ONLY audio option was Dolby Atmos. However, when I played the actual movie, my receiver was only receiving information from the BD player as Dolby TrueHD 5.1. I verified this through the output info screen on the receiver.
I've played numerous other BDs and 4K BDs with this exact setup and these exact calibrations. Is this a case of Netflix hobbling their discs for renters?! Even if the disc menu says it's otherwise? |
