Hi All,
With the cold spell we are having in the UK at the moment I wondered how best to protect my blu-rays. They are currently stored in a very small room that is slept in so there will be moisture in the air. I noticed a slight waving on the inserts for a couple of titles and wonder if it might be related. The heating is on when it gets cold but not overnight. I haven't noticed any issues with most films just a few so I may be overreacting. I try to ventilate a bit where possible but not always wanting to open the window especially with the price of energy. I have moved my blurays a few inches from the walls (no external unit the blurays are all on a shelf attached directly to the wall) so they are no longer in contact with the wall which does get cold and then will warm up I guess when the heating is on. I also bought some foam pads to slap on the wall so that can try and make the blu rays more insulated from the coldness of the walls. I was thinking to add a few silica gel packs on each shelf between the blu rays and the wall to try and absorb some extra moisture maybe??? I am not sure if the moisture is an issue or not but wondered if there is any harm in trying?? Any thoughts? |
