Nintendo Switch™ software "Taito LD Game Collection" will be released! Amazon "Prime Day" Exclusive Products Released

HD remastered 1980s LD games.
Nintendo Switch™ "Taito LD Game Collection" is here!

The "Standard Edition," which includes three LD game titles, and the "Special Edition," which includes a collection of materials and video discs in addition to the games, will be released on Thursday, December 3, 2023.

In addition, Amazon.co.jp will be accepting pre-orders for limited edition products that come with the game "Space Battleship Yamato Arcade Game Edition" exclusively for the sale "Prime Day" that will be held from 2023:7 on Tuesday, July 11, 0 to 00:7 on Wednesday, July 12, 23.

HD restorations of three Taito LaserDisc classics are coming to Nintendo Switch December 14, 2023 in Japan. No word on an international release at this time, hopefully Inin Games picks this up. There is an Amazon Prime Day tie in for a bonus game (Space Battleship Yamato Arcade Edition), with a note that it may be available at a later date for a fee. Hopefully Taito's Prime Day stuff doesn't have three-digit shipping fees like the last few years.

The collection includes HD Remasters of Time Gal, Space Battleship Yamato, and Ninja Hayate. Time Gal and Ninja Hayate were released on Sega CD in 1993, no other international versions that I am aware of for any of these titles.

Standard Edition costs 9,680円 (~$68) and includes 3 titles:

• Ninja Hayate HD Remastered

• Space Battleship Yamato HD Remastered

• Time Gal HD Remastered

Special Edition costs 19,580円 (~$138) and adds:

• Taito LD Game Collection Special Blu-ray Disc

• Taito LD game collection material collection

• "Reika" reprint mini standee

• "Time Gal" reprint mini-poster 2 types

• "Ninja Hayate" reprint pamphlet

• Taito LD game collection sound app (serial code included)

• Game "Time Gal Reverse" (serial code included)

The Amazon Prime Day links are live if anyone is interested in picking up the exclusive bonus Space Battleship Yamato (arcade version)...as long as you don't mind paying ￥13,710 for international shipping! Amazon Prime + Taito strike again...

It is worth noting that Taito's international partners tend to include the Amazon Prime Day bonus on the physical release. No guarantees it will happen, but it is better than a download code from this limited promotion.

New trailer, mini-site, and details on preorder-exclusive downloadable bonus game Time Gal Re:birth (which I previously mistranslated as "Reverse"). Apparently it is an adventure game (visual novel?) where new character Luna travels to the various eras from the animated LD game with help from an AI-powered teddybear, each era has a corresponding anime gal.

Ya, it does seem pretty unlikely to make it outside of Japan. I was excited to pre-order and get the bonus when I thought it was Time Gal Reverse, figured it was a remix or something. Probably don't know enough Japanese to make it through a visual novel though, so that was a waste of money.

This arrived today, nice collection. The games show up individually/no unified launcher,(but they are al in the cart) and Space Battleship Yamato does not have English language support so I guess I’ll pick up the international version for that. The analog sticks don’t seem to work, which is a bit frustrating for Ninja Hayate since it has 8-way input, worth using the pro controller to make it easier to hit the diagonals. Time Gal seems identical to the iPad version, it is the best transfer of the three. I haven’t checked out the bonus materials, might watch the blu-ray this weekend.

I doubt it, has Limited Run Games ever published anything developed by Taito? I'm 99% sure that ININ Games and Strictly Limited Games are the exclusive Western publishers of Taito games. https://www.strictlylimitedgames.com/
