I just saw that a new set for He-Man is coming out.

Couldn't find any other news on it. Anybody know anything about it? Same discs as before? Any possibility of remastering this time? I have one of the Mill Creek sets. Missed out on the BCI Eclipse ones with the cool cases. Might pick this up to complete the series.

Looks like they're releasing She-Ra again too.

It will be new discs since this is a Universal/Dreamworks release, alongside Voltron, but I'm not sure if the episodes will be remastered. Both He-Man and She-Ra sets have the same bonus disc. Most of the bonus features from the big Mill Creek He-Man set are missing.

The plus side of these releases is that both of these sets include the theatrical "Secret of the Sword" movie, in which She-Ra first gets her sword, etc.

While the movie is essentially a re-edited version of the first 5 episodes of She-Ra (it was released in theaters before the episodes aired on TV), it is still nice to have both versions available.

BCI did release the movie with the "Best of" She-Ra set and later on separately, but as far as I know, the movie didn't get re-released with either the later He-Man or She-Ra DVD releases from Mill Creek and Classic Media respectively.

Another plus is that the new DVD sets will have English SDH, something the previous DVDs did not have.

I never got the chance to get these on DVD so I hope this is going to happen. I loved this show when I was a kid.

It will have the Kickstarter/Netflix documentary "Power of Grayskull: The Definitive History of He-Man and the Master of the Universe" as an extra. The two other short documentaries are likely from the Kickstarter extras as well.

I'm getting this one day for me and I look it back cover at the Amazon website and they getting subtitles

I used to love He-Man as a kid! This looks like it’s going to be a great, and seemingly complete, set.

I have most of BCI Eclipses MOTU sets (missing Season 2 Volume 1) and wasn't initially planning on picking the new He-Man set up. But hearing about the Power of Grayskull documentary and looking at the other extras I'm going to have to pick this up.

I'm impressed that Universal took the time to include new extras for this set (She-Ra seems to have the same extras) rather than just doing a basic episodes only release.

What's the 10th volume with the BCI Eclipse releases? I know there's 4 for He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, 2 for The New Adventures of He-Man, and 3 for She-Ra: Princess of Power, but I don't remember a 10th volume or what it might be.

BCI Eclipse eventually got the rights to release the 2002-2004 He-Man series, which they released in 3 volumes. The packaging for those was different than the prior releases, and very thin by comparison (each roughly in the ballpark of standard DVD cases), and were not intended to continue to mural on their own.

However Best Buy had an exclusive when Volume 1 came out where it came with a slip box with space to add volumes 2 and 3 later after they were released. The "spine" of the slipbox continued the mural from the 80s He-Man/ NA/ She-Ra sets.

These will not be remasters since the original masters for both he-man and she-ra were destroyed after they were made digital for the dvds so pretty sure they can not make them any better than what we have had already

that is also the reason why those older german blurays are literally the dvd episodes shoved onto a bluray disc

no they are not, both he-man and she-ra masters were destroyed after they made them digital for the original dvds
