Default The Greatest Beer Run Ever (Peter Farrelly)

Quote:
Peter Farrelly, whose last feature Green Book earned multiple Oscars including best picture, has chosen his next project with a Vietnam War-set dramedy for Skydance.

Based on the book by Joanna Molloy and John “Chickie” Donohue, The Greatest Beer Run Ever: A True Story of Friendship Stronger Than War, the movie tells true story of Donohue, who left New York in 1967 for Vietnam to track down and share a few beers with his childhood friends, who were serving in the Army.

Brian Currie, who co-wrote Green Book, and Pete Jones (Hall Pass) will co-write the script with Farrelly. SOURCE

Rated R for language and some war violence.

This looks great. Should've gotten a (proper) theatrical release.

"In theaters" meaning "In five theaters for a week in L.A. and New York".

We don't know if it's any good yet. And this would not have made much at all in theaters.

Yeah, that's how it usually is when a movie has yet to come out.

This could be the worst movie of all time, but I still have to buy the eventual steelbook

Looks like it has potential, but the phrase "Academy Award Winner Peter Farrelly" is not a thing that should exist.

Maybe, but the director of Movie 43 & Hall Pass should not have more Oscars than Martin Scorsese.

I just watched this tonight and quite enjoyed it. I don’t think I’ve seen Zac Efron in anything before but he is insanely watchable in this. The movie seems to be getting clobbered in reviews. To each his own.
