Would have preferred he directed the medieval knight thing next, but at least this one should be better than Wolf Man.

If he doesn't write the script, it might be decent.

I enjoyed Nosferatu, and The Benicio del Toro Werewolf remake 2010 The Wolfman was entertaining and good, so this could be interesting since it's not another remake but a new take on we're-wulfs.

Only concern is that the werewolf subgenre of horror is a tough sell for audiences, with usually low attendance in theaters. This reminds me of Ari Aster the director of horror films, making a Western, which is also a tough genre to sell audiences on for theaters.

That aside, cool that Eggers is staying in the horror genre! Really good job with Nosferatu.

My first experience with the werewolf genre was Lon Chaney Jr's depiction. It really lost me on the mopey performance and werewolves never broke me from that first impression. I'll check it out but I would never go to a theater to check out a werewolf movie. I would see a western.

I have to take that back. The Dark Shadows TV show was my first experience with a werewolf. I think his name was Quinton and I liked that. Lon Chaney must have just ruined it for me.

Not what I would have picked but I'm sure Eggers will bring his own take to it.

Quote:
While details are scarce, sources say the story is set in 13th century England. The script also features dialogue that was true to the time period and has translations and annotations for those uninitiated in Old English.
I seriously doubt that very much of the script will be in the actual English of the time. Maybe the odd phrase. Having a movie done in Middle English would be very novel but not at all commercially viable.
