Looks fantastic, though I'm good with the 8-film set.

I have the tin set as well. This is most likely the same disc from that set.

Definitely a Metalpak. I saw this on AmazonCA, so glad the US is getting it as well. It looks incredible. This will go nicely with my tin set.
Thankfully I have no fear of Metalpak spines.

Pre-ordered! I woud buy all the Friday the 13th movies again if they released them all in Steelbook/Metalpak.

MAYBE in 2022 Paramount will finally give us Part 3 in Blu-Ray 3-D not just the cheap red/blue

The spines on Metalpak's are so cheap looking and the metal is so thin on these that I bought a handful and they went straight into the sell pile. Worse than keepcases. Now if talking about those Metal Boxes, now THOSE have hinged spines and yet they are of higher quality, equal to SteelBooks but less clean looking.

Awesome! I hope they all have the original poster art work.

Edit: Shit, just realized only the 1st will be released.

Yep. This was a day 1 buy for me until I saw it was a metalpak. Now it's a definite pass.

The front cover looks great, but that poster art always looks great. It's just lazy on the back cover. *L*

Pass. I'm just at a point where you have to give me something (good) which I don't already have.

Lol, the pressed metal thickness is the same. The only difference on the steelbook is the interior plastic shell.
I much prefer the interior art layout of a Metalpak over a steelbook as it comes across more seamless, without the gatefold interruption of a steelbook.

Im no expert on metalpaks, because I only have 1 vs many steelbooks. The metalpak I have is of the original texas chainsaw released in germany about 5 years ago. The metalpak seems just as sturdy as a steelbook. Zero dents to it 5 years later. Don't see why people are hating them in this thread.

It's not that, it's that to us, they just look terrible spine-facing. I only have one, Lawrence of Arabia and when the UHD comes out, it's gone.

Pass unless its 4k. Problem is, Paramount will probably pass on doing a 4k because this version will undersell based on most fans already having this edition elsewhere. Frustrating.

Look at it this way. Worse case scenario,if Paramount is dumb enough not to release a 4-k of this on the 40th anniversary year,Warner Bros in the UK have the home video rights to part 1.They definitely will take advantage. So come hell or high water,we are getting part 1,so just import if that happens. 4k discs are region free.

BB has their listing up, and have it labeled as a steelbook. We will know for sure when the image is uploaded. Odds are it’s the the same item.
