Cool find! Its nice to see more films from Asia getting the 4K UHD treatment and this one has Andy Lau to boot. Hard to believe he will be 56 next month, of course I am only 9 months younger than him, and my wife still likes me regardless of my age.

I didn't see it, but judging from the reviews it seems to be a pretty mediocre film. This UHD is the first UHD produced by HK, though the film itself is finished in 2K.

Actually, as far as I can tell, the first UHD BD from Hong Kong was this Sammi Cheng concert, released back in May:

I believe I read the article about planning to make the UHD for Shock Wave, they said it would be the first HK produced UHD, looks like they were wrong!

Shockwave has been pushed back again on YesAsia, to Sept 25th, though an email sent to me from them says Sept 30th.

Nice-looking disc. The occasional DNR was annoying, though. The yellow hue in the beginning was also kind of weird. The audio was the real star of the show for me. The first explosion floored me. I thought the movie could have used more characterization but I still enjoyed it. As far as action movies go I still prefer Helios. I'm still trying to find the sequel. A shame the distributor doesn't seem to be releasing UHDs anymore.

DDDHouse has them in stock. YesAsia and Buyoyo have them to order.
