I loved this flick. It aint great, but for some reason I really dig it. The audio has the potential to be great (when they are breaking and entering)

I LOVED this film. Hands down one of the BEST werewolf movies EVER!!

This is one of the few SD-DVDs left in my collection, having held onto it just in case. This will be a day one purchase for me. Thanks for the heads-up, HumanMedia!!

Excellent as well. But I liked how Dog soldiers took the genre a different way...less focus on how and why and more focus on the shear terror of the attacks. 30 days of Night, for me, is the same for vampire flicks. Less romance and BS about garlic and crosses and silver bullets etc....its just the good guys trying to escape from carnivorous mayhem

I thought that the "vampires" in 30 Days were the worst thing to happen in horror movies sence running zombies.

Describe why. I am not being arguementative, I really want to know. Especially because I am not a huge vampire movie buff...maybe thats why I liked the "new" version better.

I just grew up with the classic style vampire movies like Lost Boys or Fright Night. Also there was already a new style vampire movie that was even better than 30 Days called Near Dark. I also hate the new wave of stupid pre-teen vampire books.

+1

I couldn't agree more. I also really enjoyed the cinematographically similar feel that Dog Soldiers had to 28 Days Later. Those Brits can pop out some great movies.

30 Days was similar. It had a fresh view on vampires that I really enjoyed. Not "Let me put you in a hypnotic trance so I can gently bite your neck" but "I'm going to viciously tear apart your neck and sound like a beast while I do it." No romance, just horror.

Yea I dont like any of the fluffy new stuff either. I think thats why I liked 30 Days so much. More horror and less drama. Cool.

Near Dark has aged hideously IMO. I tried to watch it recently and had to turn it off, the score alone annoys me to no end.

I really like Dog Soldiers and would welcome a sequel. I'd heard rumors awhile back in a Kevin McKidd interview that they might make one.

Except that 30 days of night was not scary, that was it's main problem.
I have not seen Dog Soldiers, probably blind buy.
