Disney Need for Speed 3D Blu-ray (2014) [Region Locked / Free]

Need For Speed has been released on 3D Blu-ray in several countries, including the UK, Germany, Italy, Spain, Hong Kong, Mexico and Australia. Most releases are region locked (the UK release is Region B locked for example) but the Australian, Mexican and Brazilian releases are Region Free.

Original post:
Marketsaw first reported this, and a new international poster confirms it! Really hope the 3d version is coming to the U.S.

Plus the movie looks like adrenaline-pumping fun to me lol

Looks like a "cool" 3d movie, could be a lot of fun.

I just wish the U.S. studio branch for Touchstone would hurry up and confirm the 3d version. It seems asinine to wait less than 3 months before release to confirm it lol

Are we 100% certain this is in 3D? I haven't seen any mention of 3D for this movie until this thread. I really hope it is, have been looking forward to this, big Aaron Paul fan.

Thumbs up

Caught the preview in 2D for Need For Speed the Movie and thought it could offer some epic car chases like some of the classic car chase movies.
Back in the 2014 thread, it was suggested this was being prepped at the last minute to go to 3D.

I hope the 3D delivers with medium to strong 3D. I'm glad to hear it's going to 3D if the report holds. Is this still set for March 2014?

Off Topic: NFS Rivals on the PS4 is a blast.

I'm glad that it looks like we're getting the movie in 3d in the States (the decision to limit Noah's 3d release to international territories only still ticks me off), but the news here really confuses me. How could the 3d be last minute since the 3d was being touted in the international poster weeks ago???? Even so I'm not as worried about a rush job because conversion has gotten so good and the pipeline is there to do a more than decent job in a short time frame (I still haven't really fully seen R.I.P.D. 3d, but considering the short time frame for that conversion, it turned out pretty well from what I heard).

Plus I'm getting really sick of anti-3D commentators saying that if we get a 3d version "it's what you want" in their sarcastic tone Sure Hollywood is trying to make money of 3d, but you could say the exact same thing about a movie with heavy CGI usage (and I adore CGI btw) and other VFX and SFX terminology. The continually vicious bashing of 3D is astoundingly short-sighted to me. We're on the dawn of GLASSES FREE 3D SETS from a report I saw recently on highdefdigest.com for crying out loud! 3D is only getting better and it's here to stay and I am going to vote with my money and support as much 3d as I can stomach (which is just about anything :P)!

*Edit* I just checked the IMDB pages for Noah and Need for Speed and both 3d conversions are being handled by Stereo D and they are the best conversion studio in my book. I have the utmost confidence in their work imo I think we should have a petition to get the 3d version for Noah in the states! That and the 3d conversion for Need for Speed has been in the works since September, so the 3d rush job moniker is completely false! http://www.slashfilm.com/exclusive-s...3d-conversion/

Where is the information for Need for Speed, I just checked the tech specs and company listings on IMDB, and there's nothing about 3D work for Need for Speed. (Is it only on the professional version?)

Google it. There are several sources stating it is getting a conversion.

I saw credits in the visual effects department on the IMDB cast page for the movie and it had members from Stereo D credited to it.

OK... I see that, didn't look in the full crew...

Wouldn't it be funny if Need for Speed ended up being like Noah? Only converted for select territories.

We are one month away and nothing in the US marketing has been updated regarding 3D, including their web site.

I think they would've explicitly said at this point when they confirmed it if need for speed's conversion was going to be international only.

Hell, it hasn't been confirmed for the US either. Disney & DreamWorks have said nothing about 3D.

I agree that when glasses free 3DTV gets itself perfected for viewing at most angles, 3D will begin to get a larger audience, as most people I know that don't like 3D hate mild 3D and having to wear glasses just to see mild 3D. Clash of the Titans 3D is a lasting example that has burned a painful memory in their minds regarding 3D, overshadowing the strong 3D of Avatar in 2009, months before Clash 3D came out.
The wide 3D acceptance won't arrive till the GF3DTVs (glasses free 3DTV) drop heavily in price, so they're just as inexpensive as a regular 2DTV.

ON TOPIC:

NFS 3D
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Need_for_Speed_(film)

The film will be post-converted to 3D.[3]

Michael Keaton will play a role in NFS.
Imogen Poots; the girl from 28 Weeks Later also in NFS.

Here's hoping we get the 3D version over here. The newest trailer looked cool, the one newer than the superbowl ad.

The good news is, Captain America's Superbowl preview didn't show a 3D logo, but we know it's planned for 3D this April.

Rewatching the Superbowl Movie Commercials now, and at the end of NFS's, it just says "This film not yet rated". Go online for an extended look. Good enough reason not to put any imax or 3D info there.

Transformers Age of Extinction ad says IMAX 3D at the end of the trailer.
Amazing Spiderman 2's awesome action trailer shows May 2, real D 3D and Imax 3D.

Noah 3D will hopefully be available on Blu Ray 3D if the 3D is worth it. The superbowl ad didn't mention 3D.

Which is interesting, because it was given it's rating three weeks ago. (PG-13 or course) Plenty of time to update the info.

Wow... Somehow I missed the update on Dealine.com back on February 5th about the 3D conversion being announced by Disney.

Still an incredibly late date to announce it. Plus, it's still odd there's no domestic marketing about it.

I will have to see if the next preview shows a Need for Speed 3D preview in theaters, before Pompeii 3D Feb 21st. This Friday the 21st? That was fast.
