Thumbs up

Hi,

A superb film - possibly the best so far of 2013! Can't believe this won't be out on UK DVD/Blu-Ray until March 2014.

Still, nice to see it being given a Steelbook release. Hope the artwork improves a bit though. Red-and-white stripes are nice, but a bit bland.

Seems a bit silly, Studiocanal normally go for 4 months, which would give December/early January. Perhaps they're aiming to gain some awards buzz with the release or profit off some awards buzz...

I disagree, I prefer plain steelbooks. I'd be more than happy if they kept it the same.

Hi,

UK fans may be interested in the documentary "Hunt Vs Lauda" that aired last night on BBC2, but is repeated later on this week on BBC4, on Wednesday night I think, at 10pm.

The documentary is very good, but if you've not seen RUSH, be aware, it will spoil the film for you, as it essentially covers the exact same ground, scene-for-scene.

Thanks for the heads-up. Will be interesting to see it from a different perspective.

Hi,

The BBC Hunt Vs Lauda doc should best be watched/recorded from BBC4, as it's showing uncut. All previous transmissions (from Sunday on BBC2) were cut for language. The iPlayer version is also likely to be of the censored version too.

Alas, the BBC2 version was in HD, whereas the BBC4 version won't. So fans had a great choice between, censored and in HD, or uncut but in Standard Definition.

BBC4 HD launches in December and it will almost certainly be repeated on there at some point as they always repeat their shows.

The iPlayer version wasn't being uploaded until the BBC4 broadcast, presumably for that reason. And for stuff like The Apprentice they did add both pre- and post-watershed versions.

United Kingdom Please include the BBC documentary on the BD.

I really hope the BBC docu will be included as one of the extras.

It'd be the perfect complement to the movie.

I've just seen that Sainsbury's have a two disc special edition of this. As they've done this for other Studio Canal titles like Sightseers and Rust & Bone, I expect this will be a bonus DVD, but there's no confirmation yet:

Is it possible that you (or anyone in the UK) could buy and and send me a copy of the Sainsbury 2 disc exclusive? I'd be happy to work out the details with you. Please PM me.

Would be nice if they had collectors edition with the models of the McLaren and Ferrari cars

About 45 minutes of bonus features were submitted to the BBFC the other day. Looks a bit crap, perhaps it's the Sainsbury's bonus disc...

Thanks, didn't see that news post. Looks a bit empty really, might have to make the trip to Sainsbury's (only to discover they've sold out and are now only stocking the standard edition, like the week of STID).
