Disney Lightyear (2022) [No 3D Blu-ray]

Disney/Pixar's "Lightyear" will be releasing in RealD 3D on June 17 2022, confirmed by RealD 3D on various social media platforms.

You can watch the new official trailer here:

And the second trailer here:

Can't wait to check this out in cinemas. Never thought we would get a film involving Buzz Lightyear's origin story, but here we are nonetheless.
Now all I hope is that this film actually gets a theatrical release. Disney, you better not mess this up.
Also hoping for improvement in the 3D department, since this is a Pixar film and we know how mild their 3D usually is.

Theatrically will be the only way to see this in 3D, unfortunately. Those who miss it can console themselves that the 3D will be up to Pixar's usual standards but having said that, I did greatly enjoy Toy Story 4 in 3D and it will be a shame not to be able to own Lightyear in 3D.

I don't own any Toy Story movie, but Lightyear seems to be an totally different movie. I'd like to watch it wether in theatres or at home with Blu-ray 3D.

Sadly i know that this won't happen and unfortunately Disney is neglecting the 3D fans that would buy this to complete their collection with this spinoff or, like me, to get a new look of the Lightyear origins.

Like all their animated fare these days, this'll land in the "when I get around to it" Disney+ queue.

Thanks. They showed this preview in theaters for a movie I recently saw. It's nice that this is the story of the real Buzz Lightyear, and not the toy that was based on him again.

Hopefully they crank up the 3D to the level of The Good Dinosaur, but that was a fluke in Pixar's line up of 3D films.

Toy Story 4's 3D did look better than average for Pixar, I agree with that when I saw it in theaters in 2019.

If Disney keeps their 3D film files stored as they should, then eventually, when 3D makes a big mainstream comeback again in the future some time, they can finally release their vaulted 3D films again. Along with other studios holding onto their 3D versions yet unreleased to home video.

I thought Toy Story 1 explained his "origin" story.

But ok it's not the toy I guess, lol.

If this is in the same universe then why does the toy Buzz sound like Tim Allen but the "real" one doesn't?

Will there be an ending where real Buzz takes to hard drinking and cigar smoking in order to roughen up his voice?

Looking forward to seeing this in 3D but expect it to be typical Pixar mediocrity when it comes to stereo visual stimulation.

I love most of their movies but the 3D is never on par with DreamWorks or NWave...thought the intro sequence to Toy Story 2 Buzz Versus Zurg was awesome in 3D and one of their better efforts.

While this is listed as having a "worldwide" release, does that include China?

I expect that if it does come out in China it will be an edited version.

So, I believe there is no 3D trailer for this anywhere; however, I was recently able to watch the trailer in a 4DX theater with full 4DX effects, and for those of us who like this fancy technology, I think this is going to be one of the most amazing 4DX releases of the year.

I won't go into details, but if you've seen the trailer you can probably imagine all of the things that can be done to enhance the movie just with seat movement and wind effects alone...

Pleased to see that Cineworld will be showing this in 3D / 3D 4DX in the UK. Odeon (and the other chains) only look to be showing it in 2D, though.

Any news on an IMAX 3D release? So far I only see standard 3D releases.
