I was expecting one those cheesy old VHS-style covers.

I've got the region free Powerhouse/Indicator Blu-ray of Eyes of Laura Mars here at home, but am ashamed to admit that it's in my still-unwatched stack.

The film is stylish and enjoyable even with its flaws. The Indicator release is a terrific release with lots of extras.

It's a very nice release too. Mill Creek will probably use the same Sony sourced transfer/master, but it certainly won't touch the Indicator release otherwise.

I enjoyed this trashy '70s silliness; Faye Dunaway is great in the lead (and looks terrific) and the rest of the cast, ripe to bursting with red herrings, lends solid support. The kind of tawdry guilty pleasure I don't need the supplements-laden Indicator release for, as the bare-bones Mill Creek budget release will likely get the job done.

Had the DVD for many years now. I know Indicator released it, but I've yet to get that, so I may go for this release. I'm not a diehard fan so a bare-bones Mill Creek disc will function well enough.

Sounds like my kind of movie, so I'll probably blind-buy it. I really like the cover design too.

The film may not work 100% but Faye Dunaway is great. A thriller with script by Carpenter that is giallo tinged. If you think of it in those terms it is great.

Also the UK Indicator BLU is essential with good bonus features.

Soo, random question, is there any sort of inspiration for Veronica Mars' name (or character) from Laura Mars? I haven't seen Veronica Mars yet, but I noticed she carries a camera around, like the character here. I googled it, but couldn't find anything connecting the two. Just a coincidence?

I have the Indicator release also, It would be hard to beat that release and there is no way Mill Creek could top it

There was no way I was going to pay Indicator prices to upgrade my DVD for this movie. It's fun and all, but I'd feel stupid paying more than $12 for it on BD. This will make for a nice compromise.

I thought Eyes of Laura Mars was a pretty good movie, thanks to Faye Dunaway's performance.

Love this movie and always thought it was underrated. It’s a genuine US giallo, from the mixture of glamour and death, to a black gloved mystery killer, a supporting cast of red herrings and a hero(ine) who is a witness to murder but missing a piece of the puzzle.

Dunaway is my favourite 70s movie star and she’s surrounded by a fantastic supporting cast of great character actors early on in their careers. It’s a great NYC movie too, catching the city between Studio 54 style decadence and a genuine sense of danger.

I have the Indicator release. It’s based on a dated a master and a little soft. It’s acceptable, but this could do with a new scan.
