Default Question for those in Retail

Since the WB announcement and a significant decline in HD DVD sales, are your stores ordering less HD DVDs? For example if you normally ordered 6 copies of a movie in the past maybe now you are only ordering 3. I'm asking this because I've noticed that Elizabeth was not well stocked at all where i live.

We have already removed set of shelves at my BB, but I actually dont see us restocking many HD DVD's. I havent noticed our guys putting any back on the shelves at all. I am not looking all that hard, but I am not noticing any extra stock of HD here.

For every 6 New release Blu-ray movies I order in, I order in 1 HD DVD. It is the minimum I can order, or they'll auto ship me a dozen.

Even that 1 DuD copy does not sell. The Blu-ray movies sell fine. I think all the customers already know HD DVD is doomed.

HD DVD = dead stock (dust collector)

Any evidence that the retailers are putting pressure on Paramount and Universal?

I dont work with movies and music, but I can tell you that Blu-ray players (non-PS3) vastly outnumber Toshiba players in the shipments at my Best Buy.

I can't swear to the movie supply although it does seem like there are less hd dvd new releases. But when it comes to ordering stand alone hd dvd's are NOT being re-ordered.

Wish i could say the same. We've had week after week of hd-dvd deals. Like Buy a 1080p television, get a free HD-A3, or free with any Toshiba HD TV, or Last Week it was the Worst one yet, Buy 10 HD-DVD Movies, get the HD-A3 Free
