Already have the UK tat edition ordered, but cool for those that don't want all that. Interesting that Zavvi had the stand alone steelbooks for some of Universal's newer tat releases (king kong and atomic blonde), but the US never got them.

There's a win for the "I'm not gonna pay scalper prices, I'll wait for the next one" crowd.

It's the same SB found in this upcoming UK Collector's Edition:

The front cover is beyond ugly. The original cloud cover is the best of the covers so far. Looks ominous.

I didn't know you watch the covers instead of the actual film

Then what are you doing in the steelbook thread then?

If you don't care about cover design on a specific collectible release of a film, then you can go right ahead and discuss the film in the Oppenheimer 4K Blu-ray thread.

I saw this steelbook in person and its worse looking in person than in the pictures. Oppenheimer's eyes kind of glow due to the finish. It looks like a horror movie shirt from Spencers or FYE.

Got my copy from Walmart. I still like the original steelbook better, but this is better than nothing. And it’s glossy somewhat.

Everybody has different subjective tastes in art. There’s no right or wrong answers.

FYI - The Walmart Steelbook is not debossed. The European Steelbook in the Collectors Edition is debossed.

Except for poopart. I think everyone can agree that can stay on the "bad ideas best forgotten" pile.

Great set. Got mine a few days ago. Reminds me of the Universal Essential Collectors sets released in the US.

Most of them are horrible, but there’s a few I liked:

Whiplash was minimalist with blood on the cymbal and drumstick on the spine:

I also liked Baby Driver:

To be sure there were a handful of exceptions...but they don't disprove the rule.
