Mixing/Mismatching Releases

Hey, question for everyone.

As we are all collectors, I'm sure I'm not the only one who buys things that are impractical. Such examples include:

- German Mediabooks of non-English language movies that don't come with English subtitles. (Example: UHD Lamb Mediabook. Language is Icelandic, but being a German release, only German subtitles are included. Can't use this disc).
- Cool packaging for a standard blu ray release when you want 4K. (Example: Bought a Hereditary mediabook that's a standard blu-ray release, but would rather have a UHD disc)

So I've always heard people talking about swapping discs. So for my two examples; I'd buy an English-friendly release and put that disc into my Mediabook. And I'd buy the 4K release of Hereditary and place that disc in my Mediabook.

My question is; what do you then do with the original disc + regular packaging? Do you also place those on the same shelf? Do you hide the undesirables away in a closet, out of sight out of mind? Do you try and somehow sell your Frankenstein sets of mismatched cases & discs?

Just curious how everyone goes about doing this.
