not sure how to feel about this version yet.

The first two movies were too much fun and had many screwball off the wall moments.

I don't know why, but I have zero interest in this film... I enjoyed the original series, and I enjoyed the McG directed films.. Hope I enjoy it when I see it!

This one seemed more grounded in reality than the previous 2, which might mean I don't like it as much... but I like Elizabeth Banks and Naomi Scott is good in what I've seen her in, and I like Kristen Stewart enough, she just has to find the right roles for her and she seemed fine in the trailer so maybe they wrote to her strengths. I'll give it a shot with renting first, but I'm a sucker for sequels and they decided to make all Charlie's Angels movies and shows canon so I'm already half on board with this.

This "film" is literally everything that's wrong with Hollywood at the present time. So, uh...a big no from me.

It will be interesting to see if this gets canned:

Quote:
As expected, Charlie’s Angels is tanking big time with an estimated $4M today (including $900K from previews –and not all from last night as there were showtimes Wednesday) and a $10.5M opening, which is below what Sony was seeing at $12M-$14M. The pic reportedly cost $48M with co-financing from Perfect World and 2.0 Entertainment; we’ve heard more in the mid $50Ms. The first two Charlie’s Angels movie[s] in 2000 and 2003 opened respectively at $40.1M and $37.6M and finaled at $125.3M and $100.8M domestic.

In the end, I don't think it will, but only because it's a genre that's claimed to do well on 4K. However, I worry that this may have torpedoed any hope of getting Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle on UHD Blu-ray.

Spoken like someone who hasn't seen the movie and has a preconceived agenda.

And feel free to elaborate on everything that is wrong with it.

The revised number says a $8.2 million opening weekend in third place. Ouch.

I wouldn't waste my time to go and see Charlie's Angels for free. The movie was a flop from the beginning, just like MIB: International and many others. The TV show wasn't all that either! The movie studios flushes millions and millions of dollars down the drain like it's nothing. It just makes me sick to waste that kind of money.

Decent reviews may help it's legs

Not that I ever use Rotten Tomatoes, but Doctor Sleep is "certified fresh" at 76% (90% audience) and Charlie's Angels is "rotten" at 59% (80% audience), so its reviews are markedly worse, anyway.

Still, Sony seems so desperate for anything beyond Spider-Man with franchise potential that they might just release it, anyway.

Sony just stop with reboots for awhile (Amazing Spiderman, MIB and now CA)

MIB and CA are at least part of the existing universe. They start from scratch with Spider-Man each time. If the MCU stuff ever completely falls through, I'd expect another Spidey reboot.

Saw this one yesterday. As a fan of the previous two films, I was a little disappointed - even with low expectations. It's bland, overly convoluted and Patrick Stewart and Kristen Stewart are unable to save it.

It was 66 last I looked.
And sleep was killed by its marketing and being a sequel for a film most people seeing IT either have not seen, or not seen in years.
See also Blade Runner 2049.
Also this is not out everywhere yet and one day Americas will learn the international box office is the real money now.
