Default Most memorable scenes when someone gets fired (spoilers)

If you've been in the American workforce for a long enough period of time, the chances are high you've been fired or laid off at least once in your working lifetime. So it makes sense that scenes were someone gets fired from their job are pretty commonplace in various movies. But some firing scenes are better than others.

The best firing scene in my memory comes from "Jurassic World: Dominion", in which Dr. Malcolm gets fired by the CEO of Biosyn for enabling Alan Grant and Ellie Sadler to enter an off-limits area containing football-sized grasshoppers. The CEO instructed Dr. Malcolm to hand over the wrist bracelet used to access restricted areas (if he still had it, which he didn't) and told someone else to help Dr. Malcolm clean out his things. The only thing that would have made that scene better is if we got to see a few seconds of Dr. Malcolm gathering his things, just to see what his workspace looked like.

So what movie firing scenes stand out in your memory? Please share them with me. Feel free to add screenshots or video clips. Have a nice day.

This scene hits a little different with everything that's come to light since then...

The one that first comes to mind for me is always Jerry Maguire, and I haven't seen that in probably 20 years.

The fact that you remember it two decades later is a testament to its power.

Richard Pryor in Moving. It was a pretty funny late 80s comedy about a family that has to move and they go through all the BS associated with that. When his character gets fired, it’s really funny and well done, IMO.
