Default New Front/Center Speakers

Guys, looking to get new center and front speakers. I'm looking at JBL speakers and have a budget of $1000. Any feedback is appreciated.
Thanks.

+1 for Polks, their RTi line is perfect for me (RTi8's specifically). You may even save some money.

Does a 2-way spearker vs. a 3-way make a big difference in a small room? I'm trying to get the best setup in my apartment.

Before you make your final decision, give a listen to B&W speakers. They are a high end speaker company. They also make some affordable speakers as well. Take a look: http://www.bowers-wilkins.com/displa...fid=2375&sc=ht.

Personally I have a set of these http://www.klipsch.com/products/details/heresy-iii.aspx,

or if your really crazy mad about spending money like a fiend a set of these http://www.us.martinlogan.com/specs/summit.html...hehe mmmm tasty!

I got the klipsches open-box for right in your budget range...I had the Infinity Beta 40s(also made by Harmon like JBL), those sounded pretty decent as well. Just absolutly stay away from Bose, I was once a die hard fan until I got educated on the way they "fake" your ears into you thinking it sounds good. After I got rid of my bose and got a good set of stereo speakers the imaging is amazing, I can not belive my ears!

Probably the most insane deal going now is at ebay for a pair of Defintive Technology 350 speakers- they list for $500 but as I write 6 sellers have them for $279 a pair. I picked some up in December @ $299 and thought that was incredible. Add a Def Tech Pro1000 center for $200 and you have a killer combo. Go to this thread for all the raves on the Def Tech speakers:

I agree..... $1,000 will get you into a set in the 600 series..... and if possible, check out their in-wall speakers. They make NICE speakers, and the 600's are universally being accepted as a great value for their sound quality.

Either way, I'd give them some serious consideration.

Just like I said in another post, PLEASE check out Paradigm. Their speakers sound amazing and the price isn't outrageous.

+ 1 on Paradigm.

I was able to get Monitor 7 towers and the CC-290 for $950 all in. They do retail for closer to $1175 though. I think these would be great if you already have a good sub.

AV123 - Great speakers, great prices, and great customer service.

For $1000, you can get 2 x x-ls Encores and one x-cs Encore if you want bookshelves or substitute x-sls for the x-ls if you want floorstanders. x-MTM is another floorstander but they are larger.
