I am looking to make a list of all USA 4K UHD Movie and TV releases that do not come with a standard Blu-Ray. This is a trend that I have seen starting with Paramount, and now Warner and even Disney are starting to do it. This does also include collectors editions from companies like Arrow or Shout, but does not include other steelbooks in any fashion (unless it is the only release). For example Top Gun Maverick does not come with a Blu-Ray disc, but the steelbook edition does, and the opposite is true for It (2016). I will start with the ones I know of and add them here. Please give the BD Links so I can make this easier to update
Releases are also eligible for this list if the included Blu-Ray does not include the same version of the movie/TV show as the 4k and that version is available for purchase on a standalone Blu-Ray. Thank you for all of these. I know we never got Prince of Thieves in the US, but I don't plan on including it, as it is an import for getting a decent blu-ray as well. This is also to be a resource for people who stumble across it wondering the same thing that I did.

I don't think this is really necessary, especially considering that combos are going to be become less and less common as time goes on. If you can't research five seconds to find if the UHD contains a BD, you deserve to lose your money. It's on the box.

The point is for when bringing a disc to a tv that does not have HDR. Having this list helps people know what they would have to either double dip in so they can know beforehand. Yes, it is usually on the box. Yes they should still be including it in all releases, as a 4k blu ray can't be used well on all tvs, while a blu ray will still look better on an SD display than a dvd would. HDR to SDR conversion is mostly not used properly on players, and not all blu ray players sold support 4k discs.

Shouldn't 12 angry men from kino count? Their 4k doesn't have the original on the included blu ray, just the remake.
Also the bill and ted shout select 4k is for whatever reason the only shout/scream factory 4k release without a blu ray included. Also also, any a24 shop exclusive 4k. |

Because they don't exist... Studios haven't released them and they're only removing the Blu-ray to cut costs. Do you really think they're going to give us an SDR 4K disc when most companies cheap out with forcing films onto BD66 when they desperately needed 100?

So you have to make an excuse for the FHD SDR disc to be in your collection, when its real purpose is to be used by people who don't always have 4K players. If the purpose is what you say, the labels would make 4K SDR/HDR combos.
The BD gives the label the excuse to charge more, so I don't want it. Even if it only costs them 50 cents, they could inflate that when passing it on to the consumer. Single disc cases look nicer and vibrate less in transit. Also less chance of a loose discs banging and bumping around.
