I'm ready for an upgrade, but the question is do I keep the old TV and repurpose it, or do I sell it on? Would it even bring enough to make selling it worthwhile?
The usage on it is actually low even though I watch a lot of movies. This is because I do not sleep with my TV on or otherwise keep it running when I'm not actively watching. It's at 7075 Screen Hrs |

I have a 75 inch of this model. It's been a great TV. Going on 7 years now. I'm considering the Sony Bravia 9 mini-LED. 75-85 inch. It's apparently a solid upgrade from the 900F. More dimming zones and the excellent Sony processing. Is it OLED.....no, but from what I've seen and reviews, Sony has done a great job on getting blacks better for LED tech in general as it is. I had a Panasonic V series 50 inch Plasma long ago and while I loved the inky black levels, burn-in was ALWAYS a worry for me. An I'm a worrier....LOL. Back then, I would RELIGIOUSLY use the built in pixel sweep function, but I was never-the-less worried about burn-in and that aspect ALONE still has me put off by OLED. Grant you, back in the Plasma days, I only played movies on it. Never any gaming or cable TV. I still wouldn't use an OLED for gaming or cable TV due to in- game huds or channel banners just sitting in one spot for a long time. I would only get something like an LG G4 series OLED for movies and nothing else. And, of course, an OLED purchase like that would also come with my worrying about burn-in too. |
