Default HDTV Antennae (recommendations?)

I am deciding to go with a HDTV Antennae since there is never anything on cable and I pay over 200 a month for all this crap...

I'd rather just buy Blu-rays and watch the local stations in HD...

is anyone able to recommend anything?

I got one, I think an RCA, for about $30. It picked up my local channels in HD. Check it out and return it if you don't like it.

The Philips/Zenith Silver Sensor has been on the top lists and one of the best for the price and simplicity to set up.

That's assuming that you're within range and don't have any physical barriers to your local operators OTA signals.

I was going to get one for the outside...

since we have a HDTV in the living room and the basement...I'm concerned that the basement won't be able to pick up signals..

Depends on your proximity to broadcast tower, but I use two Terk directionals and they are much better for my burb than my previous multidirectional.

I live in the city...not sure if that helps or hurts my chances of getting good reception without the PQ breaking up and looking all pixellated..

ChannelMaster makes great outdoor antennas. I got one of the big VHF/UHFs several years back when they started OTA HD broadcasts.

What I would recommend is go to a OTA HD forum and look for someone in your area before you invest in anything more than $50.

AVS did have a decent one when I was still going OTA.

Ditto. I have three of these in my home. Get all the old local analog channels in digital and more.
