Alice in Wonderland (1933)

It's interesting. Comes off like a kid's play at times, but some of the visuals are nifty. Plotline doesn't seem to have any structure, but I also feel like it nails the dream logic so well that it shouldn't matter.

At this point I think I like this more than the Tim Burton version, but I favor the 1951 cartoon the most (and I kept wanting to throw it in). I really need to read the original book someday to see which one nails it the best.

Blonde (first-time viewing)



Starting out February with a big wet fart of a movie. It looks gorgeous, and Ana De Armas is doing the best she can. But the whole movies weighed down by a screenplay that feels as though it doesn't just not care about Monroe, but despises her. Baffling, and I think we'd all be better if we stopped trying to make movies about her for a while.

1. On Dangerous Ground

We have a lot of ice and snow right now and when that happens I always want to pick a movie with a snowy backdrop. I went with this crime thriller which I heard someone call a daytime noir.
