HD-DVD did serve a valuable purpose: it forced manufacturers and distributors to slash their prices far more quickly than if only one format had been available. It took DVD years to come down to affordable levels. Yet because of the BluRay/HD-DVD war, prices for players and movies have dropped drastically in a little less than a year.
So, if you hadn't been on the scene I'd probably still be waiting for the prices to come down enough for me to make the jump. I sure wouldn't have gotten the many, many sweet Blu BOGOS and such that I did. Thanks. Really. You can go away now. ![]() |
