Default FOX's "Wayward Pines" (Season 2)

I loved her in NBC's The Firm, was sorry to see it cancelled.

Quote:
The cast of M. Night Shyamalan's small screen foray "Wayward Pines" continues to grow as everyone favorite natural born killer, Juliette Lewis, has signed on to bring a bit more star power to this television affair.

According to Deadline, Lewis will play Beverly, a warm and approachable small-town bartender who doesn’t mince words. Ethan (Matt Dillon) quickly learns that Beverly is just as wary of Wayward Pines as he is.

Lewis joins the previously announced Shannyn Sossamon, Matt Dillon, Terrence Howard, Carla Gugino, Toby Jones, Greta Lee, and Melissa Leo.

Based on the best-selling novel Pines by Blake Crouch, "Wayward Pines" is an intense, mind-bending thriller evocative of the classic cult hit "Twin Peaks." "Wayward Pines" is set to debut in 2014.

Synopsis
Ethan Burke (Dillon) is a Secret Service agent who arrives in the bucolic town of Wayward Pines, Idaho, on a mission to find two missing federal agents. But instead of answers, Ethan's investigation only turns up more questions. Each step closer to the truth takes Ethan further from the life he knew, from the husband and father he was, until he must face the terrifying reality that he may never get out of Wayward Pines alive
M. Night Shyamalan Develops "Twin Peaks"-esque "Wayward Pines" For Fox

Quote:
Fox is making its entry into the development of long-form event series with two drama projects, including “Wayward Pines,” from M. Night Shyamalan and FX Productions.

Based on Blake Crouch’s best-selling novel Pines, ““Wayward Pines” is a thriller about a secret service agent who is sent on a mission to find two missing federal agents. The more he investigates, the more odd happenings he unsurfaces in the town.”

The script is written by Chad Hodge (The Playboy Club) and executive produced by Shyamalan, Hodge, Donald De Line (Green Lantern) and Ashwin Rajan (After Earth).

Wayward Pines looks to be a very interesting show. I hope we get the good Shyamalan and not the bad.

Default Juliette Lewis Cast In Shyamalan's "Wayward Pines"

Quote:
One of my favorite actresses growing up, Juliette Lewis (Natural Born Killers, From Dusk Till Dawn), has been cast as Beverly, a local bartender who’s also suspicious of “Wayward Pines,” a Fox representative told TheWrap. Beverly is described as “warm and approachable,” though she doesn’t mince words.

She stars alongside Matt Dillon, whom plays Secret Service agent Ethan Burke.

Aside from Dillon, she joins already announced cast members Shannyn Sossamon, Terrence Howard, Carla Gugino, Toby Jones and Melissa Leo on “Wayward Pines,” which is based on Blake Crouch’s novel series of the same the name.

The series, billed as “an intense, mind-bending thriller,” follows Secret Service agent Ethan Burke (Dillon), who arrives in the bucolic town of Wayward Pines, Idaho, on a mission to find two missing federal agents. But instead of answers, Ethan’s investigation only turns up more questions.

M. Night Shyamalan directed the pilot and will executive produce the FX productions thriller along with writer/creator Chad Hodge, Donald De Line and Ashwin Rajan.

But instead of answers, Ethan’s investigation only turns up more questions. Leo will play Pam, the intense, unpredictable nurse who first takes care of Ethan when he wakes up in the Wayward Pines hospital. But it soon seems Pam may be more interested in harming than healing. Nurse Pam and Ethan grow into deadly rivals, and her role in the town of Wayward Pines proves much deeper than it first appears.”

Written by Chad Hodge and directed by Shyamalan, “Wayward Pines” is one of the first two event series greenlighted by Fox.

'Berberian Sound Studio's' Toby Jones Joins M Night Shyamalan's "Wayward Pines"

Quote:
The announcer from the Hunger Games films has joined the event series from M Night Shyamalan, reports Deadline.

In Fox’s thriller “Wayward Pines,” Berberian Sound Studio Toby Jones will play Dr. Jenkins, a charismatic and mysterious psychiatrist who treats a Secret Service agent (Matt Dillon) who arrives in a small Idaho town looking for two missing agents. Jenkins believes brain damage suffered in a car wreck is the source of the visiting agent’s paranoia. Then again, very little in the town of Wayward Pines is as it seems.

Based on Blake Crouch’s novel Pines, the series also stars Carla Gugino and Melissa Leo and is set to debut next year.

Default Wayward Pines Gets a Professional Tweeter

Quote:
Only in the mysterious world of M. Night Shyamalan can a character who's dubbed as a "Professional Tweeter" possibly exist. I mean this cannot possibly be a real title, can it? Either way, read on for more "Wayward Pines" casting news.

According to Deadline, Lindsey Kraft (pictured) will recur on the Fox event series, an intense thriller that revolves around Secret Service agent Ethan Burke (Matt Dillon). Kraft will play Ethan’s sister-in-law, Darla, who is a professional tweeter(!) and “life coach”.

Kraft joins the previously announced Dillon, Tim Griffin, Charlie Tahan, Shannyn Sossamon, Terrence Howard, Carla Gugino, Toby Jones, Greta Lee, Juliette Lewis, and Melissa Leo.

Wow .. that looks right up my alley.

Vibes of Twin Peaks, The Prisonner, and even In The Mouth of Madness.

But ... 2015?

Damn, Fox.

[Show spoiler]About the Show

Imagine the perfect American town... beautiful homes, manicured lawns, children playing safely in the streets. Now imagine never being able to leave. You have no communication with the outside world. You think you're going insane. You must be in Wayward Pines.

Based on the best-selling novel “Pines” by Blake Crouch and brought to life by suspenseful storyteller M. Night Shyamalan (“The Sixth Sense,” “Signs”), WAYWARD PINES is the intense new mind-bending 10-episode event thriller evocative of the classic hit “Twin Peaks.”

Secret Service Agent ETHAN BURKE (Academy Award nominee Matt Dillon, “Crash,” “City of Ghosts”) drives to the bucolic town of Wayward Pines, ID, searching for two missing federal agents. One of the best Secret Service agents in the Seattle office, he's the man who knew missing agent KATE HEWSON (Carla Gugino, “Watchmen,” “Entourage”) better than anyone. They were more than partners; their relationship nearly destroyed Ethan's marriage.

Everything changes when a truck slams into his car…and he wakes up in the Wayward Pines Hospital, with the intense and unpredictable NURSE PAM (Academy Award and Emmy Award winner Melissa Leo, “The Fighter,” “Treme”) at his bedside. It soon appears that Pam is more interested in harming than healing. She and Ethan grow into deadly rivals, and her role in the town proves much deeper than anyone realizes.

As the mysteries within the town pile up, Ethan starts to question his own sanity. He is confronted by the mysterious and charismatic DR. JENKINS (Emmy Award nominee Toby Jones, “The Girl,” the “Harry Potter” franchise), the psychiatrist who treats him at Wayward Pines Hospital. As he begins to meet some of the local residents, including toymaker HAROLD BALLINGER (Reed Diamond, “24,” “Much Ado About Nothing”), Ethan forms a bond with BEVERLY (Academy Award and Emmy Award nominee Juliette Lewis, “Hysterical Blindness,” “Cape Fear”), a bartender who is as wary of Wayward Pines as he is.

Back home in Seattle, Ethan's wife, THERESA BURKE (Shannyn Sossamon, “40 Days and 40 Nights,” “How to Make It in America”), a former Secret Service Agent trainee, is informed by Ethan's boss, ADAM HASSLER (Tim Griffin, “Prime Suspect”), that early testing shows Ethan was never in the car which was recovered on the side of the road outside of Wayward Pines. They're still investigating. But this isn't enough for Theresa. So she sets out on her own search for her husband, along with their teenage son, BEN (Charlie Tahan, “The Harvest,” “Charlie St. Cloud”).

Meanwhile, Ethan is challenged at every turn by the town's die-hard residents, especially SHERIFF ARNOLD POPE (Academy Award nominee Terrence Howard, “Crash,” “Hustle & Flow”), who takes offense at a Secret Service agent showing up on his turf. Ethan's continuing investigation only turns up more and more questions, and each one leads him to the most important question of all: What's wrong with Wayward Pines?

WAYWARD PINES is a production of FX Productions. The series was developed for television by Chad Hodge (“The Playboy Club,” “Runaway”) and executive-produced by M. Night Shyamalan, Donald De Line (“Green Lantern,” “The Italian Job”), Hodge and Ashwin Rajan (“After Earth,” “Devil”). Hodge wrote and Shyamalan directed the premiere episode.

Been looking forward to the series Wayward Pines for quite a while. FOX (in the UK) have been promoting this show for weeks. It starts on Thursday 14th May, which is what puzzles me. It starts the same day as the US. Normally US shows air in the UK a day, a few days or a few weeks after the US.
